Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms. Sheila Dikshit inaugurated Stories on Wheels for Kids in the Hospitals, that will help children fight boredom in government hospitals.
We have started a unique program called Stories on Wheels for Kids in the Hospitals, where our stories on wheels van visits Children OPD of various Government Hospitals in Delhi along with lots of storybooks, coloring books, crayons, games and toys collected from various Schools, Institutes, Organization and kind hearted individuals.
Usually Children have to wait for long hours before being seen by the doctors in OPD of Government Hospital. Particularly in cancer wards they have to wait for the whole day for their turn for chemotherapy. Stories on Wheels van aims at helping them pass time without feeling bored. Children will not be required to return the material they take from the van.
Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms Sheila Dixit inaugurated our Stories on Wheels form her official residence in a small function and invited all our children and volunteers to her home. She was deeply touched with the project and she immediately ordered her personal staff to arrange books from her personal collection to keep the same in the vehicle.
On the inaugural day, students from Father Agnel School collected books, crayons and soft toys from their classmates and others. More schools will
be asked to donate and contribute for the cause.
Now the van will visit associated schools twice a week to collect the donations to be distributed to kids in hospitals.
